Russian MFA: Trilateral Working Group never discussed creation of any extraterritorial corridor in Armenia

"Significant practical results have been achieved within the framework of the Trilateral Working Group chaired by the Deputy Prime Ministers of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia," Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said during a briefing, APA’s Moscow correspondent reports.

According to her, there has never been any talk about creating an extraterritorial corridor in Armenia in the work of the Trilateral Working Group, on the contrary, it was agreed that the parties have sovereignty over the corridors passing through their territories.

"Unfortunately, due to the destructive actions of the West, the work of the Trilateral Working Group was halted by a decision from the Armenian side. We have mentioned this many times. I am confident that the full restoration of the work of the Trilateral Working Group will not only restore transport communications in the South Caucasus region but will also ensure the future socio-economic development of the region. From our side, we once again confirm that we are ready to mediate between our partners in Azerbaijan and Armenia," the Russian MFA spokesperson concluded.
