Armenia's trade with EU is many times less than with EEU - Russian gov't

Yerevan's trade with the European Union is several times less than its trade with the Eurasian Economic Union, while Armenia's trade turnover with the European Union is decreasing, Alexey Overchuk, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation said, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.

He announced new statistics for 11 months: "The trade turnover between Russia and Armenia is $11.6 billion, and with the EEU it is about $12 billion. This is what the economy and reality say.

The initiators of the draft law "On the start of the process of accession to the EU" understand that joining the European Union is "a very hypothetical thing" and do not want to lose the economic benefits and advantages they have gained within the Eurasian Union," the Russian official noted.
