Azerbaijan did not record any metapneumovirus infection case: Ministry

According to the Republican Hygiene and Epidemiology Center of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the epidemiological situation regarding influenza and other respiratory diseases in the country is under close monitoring, the Ministry of Health said in response to APA's inquiry.

 According to the Ministry, with the onset of the autumn-winter season, preventive and anti-epidemic measures against influenza and acute respiratory viral infections among the population have been intensified.

It was stated that laboratory examinations are being conducted on patients with severe acute respiratory viral infections and influenza-like symptoms. Based on the results of examinations carried out in 2024 and the past period of 2025, no cases of metapneumovirus infection have been recorded in the country.

"Currently, effective and safe vaccines against influenza have been brought to the country through the Ministry of Health and distributed to outpatient and polyclinic medical institutions. Individuals wishing to get vaccinated against influenza can apply to state medical institutions providing outpatient and polyclinic services based on their place of residence or work," the statement reads.
