Commemoration event has been held on the 35th anniversary of the January 20 tragedy in Ponichala district of Tbilisi, Tbilisi correspondent told APA.
According to the information, carnations have been put in front of the martyrs’ memorial of the January 20 – April 9 in the event in which employees of Azerbaijan’s embassy in Georgia have also participated.
Sanan Bakhshiyev, the second secretary of Azerbaijan’s embassy in Georgia has noted in his talk with the residents that Georgian martyrs played an exceptional role in restoration of Azerbaijan’s independence and sovereignty. He thanked the residents for commemorating the martyrs.
The older people of the district, noting that Azerbaijanis from Georgia are always with Azerbaijan, thanked Azerbaijan’s embassy in Georgia.
