The amount of funds spent from the state budget on the improvement and construction works carried out in Baku in connection with COP 29 has been revealed, this was stated in the information on the implementation of the summary and state budgets of Azerbaijan for 2024, APA-Economics reports.
It was noted that in 2024, in accordance with the relevant orders of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, AZN 471.6 million were allocated from the reserve fund of the state budget. Of these funds, AZN 470.4 million were financed by submitting order documents by the relevant institutions. 99.7 percent of the opened financing was implemented by the relevant institutions, including for the implementation of major repairs and reconstruction of highways in a number of cities and districts of the republic, the continuation of development and construction works in Baku as part of the preparatory measures for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 29), held in Azerbaijan in November of the reporting year, the establishing of the national pavilion to represent the Republic of Azerbaijan at the "Osaka, Kansai Expo 2025" World Expo to be held in Osaka, Japan from April 13 to October 13, 2025, the construction of residential buildings in the cities of Barda, Goranboy and Masalli, the restoration of damaged facilities and the completion of repair and construction works to eliminate the damage caused by the aggression of the Armenian armed forces on the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, purchasing medical equipment and special-purpose vehicles, providing important strategic facilities with reliable electricity, and implementing other measures.
