Diplomatic activity of the First Secretary of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Greece, who claimed to have been beaten, has been terminated

The diplomatic activity of the First Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Greece has been terminated, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan told APA.

It was reported that an employee named Rahman Shahhuseynli indeed worked as the First Secretary at the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Greece. During his tenure in this position, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs conducted a relevant service investigation based on information provided to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding a number of actions that were contrary to diplomatic service.

During the investigation conducted over several months, with explanations from Rahman Shahhuseynli and other individuals, it became clear that R. Shahhuseynli committed acts inappropriate for an employee of the diplomatic service. At the same time, as R. Shahhuseynli noted in his complaint, the allegations that he was subjected to physical pressure by the ambassador and another employee do not reflect the truth.

Based on the investigation and proven facts, the employee in question was recalled from the embassy in September 2024 and his activities in the diplomatic service were terminated.

In general, it is known that the former employee in question made some mistakes during his work in the central office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as a result of which he was reprimanded in November 2021.
