Azerbaijan and Türkiye have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening economic and energy cooperation during Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov’s visit to Türkiye.
Azernews reports that Minister Jabbarov met with Türkiye’s Minister of Trade, Ömer Bolat, to discuss priority areas for expanding trade and investment ties. The meeting highlighted Türkiye’s role as Azerbaijan’s second-largest trade and export partner, with both sides emphasising the benefits of increasing the number of products under the Preferential Trade Agreement. Türkiye companies were invited to take advantage of investment opportunities in Azerbaijan’s industrial parks, particularly in the liberated territories.
Discussions also focused on enhancing trade turnover, supporting SMEs, and deepening business-to-business relations to achieve common economic goals.
Additionally, Minister Jabbarov met with Türkiye’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar, to explore new areas of cooperation in the energy sector. The discussions underscored the significant role of Azerbaijani-Turkish energy collaboration in regional and European energy security. Azerbaijan’s ongoing green energy projects and the potential for increased investment in renewable energy were also key topics of the meeting.
The visit reflects the growing economic and strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, with both sides committed to fostering deeper cooperation in trade, investment, and energy.
