In accordance with the instructions of the head of state of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, AzerEnergy is currently constructing 6 hydroelectric power plants with a total capacity of 37.5 megawatts to transform Garabagh and East Zangazur into a "green energy" zone, APA-Economics reports.
In the Kalbajar district, the 7.7-megawatt "Tekegaya", 3-megawatt "Aghchay", and 5-megawatt "Chaykend" hydroelectric power stations are being built, in the Lachin district, the 4-megawatt "Sheylanli", 3.1-megawatt "Ashaghi Malibey", and in the Aghdara district, the 14.7-megawatt "Gozlukorpu" hydroelectric power stations are being built. Separate water intakes are being built for each of these 6 hydroelectric power stations, and a total of 40 km of diversion pipes are being laid to supply the stations with water.
It is planned to produce a total of 110 million kilowatt-hours of "green energy" per year at 6 hydroelectric power stations, thereby saving 24 million cubic meters of gas and preventing 44 thousand tons of carbon dioxide from being emitted into the atmosphere.
These 6 stations are planned to be commissioned in the first half of 2025.
