OPEC releases global oil demand forecast for next year

The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has revised its forecast for global daily oil demand in 2025 downward, APA-Economics reports citing OPEC's monthly report.

Based on the forecast, the global oil demand for the next year is expected to be 105.2 million barrels per day (previous forecast – 105.27 million barrels), which is an increase of 1.45 million barrels compared to the forecast for 2024.

Additionally, OPEC has disclosed its global oil demand forecast for the next year. The organization anticipates that the figure will reach 106.63 million barrels per day, which is 1.43 million barrels higher than the forecast for 2025.

According to the report, last year the global daily oil demand was 103.75 million barrels (previous forecast – 103.82 million barrels), which represents an increase of 1.54 million barrels compared to the figure for 2023.

Recall that in 2023, the global daily oil demand was 102.21 million barrels, which was 2.55 million barrels higher compared to the previous year.
