During January-November 2024, 1,390.2 kilograms of unprocessed silver (including silver coated with gold or platinum by galvanic plating) worth 1,299,000 US dollars were exported from Azerbaijan, APA-Economics reports citing its calculations made based on data from the State Statistical Committee.
According to the information, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, silver exports decreased by 43.4% or 1,067 kg in volume terms and by 31% or 579,300 US dollars in value terms.
During the reporting period, silver was exported only to Switzerland. The average price of 1 kilogram of this product amounted to 934.7 US dollars.
Note that in the first 11 months of the previous year, 3,064.2 kilograms of silver were produced in the country.
Recall that during January-November 2024, semi-processed silver was mainly imported to Azerbaijan from Switzerland (1,000 kg), with the average import price of 1 kilogram of this product amounting to 159.4 US dollars.
During this period, jewelry products made of silver totaling 4,482,400 US dollars and weighing 2,905 kilograms were imported into the country. These products were primarily imported from Türkiye (1,319.9 kg), China (1,228.7 kg), Thailand (286.5 kg), India (21.7 kg), the USA (15.4 kg), and Italy (14.3 kg).
