In 2024, Azerbaijan's tea imports increased by 5.2% in volume, reaching 14,387.8 tons, and by 8.6% in value, totaling USD 76 million 487.8 thousand , compared to the proper period of the previous year, according to the calculations made by APA-Economics based on the State Customs Committee's report.
According to the information, during the report Azerbaijan's tea exports increased by 2.1% in volume, totaling 747.1 tons, and by 0.4% in value, reaching USD 6 million 633.8 thousand, compared to the previous year. Thus, in terms of volume, tea imports exceeded exports by 19.3 times.
During this period, the average import price of tea per kilogram made up AZN 9, while the average export price made up AZN 15.1.
Note that during the last year, the country's tea production increased by 7.2% compared to 2023, reaching 12,424.2 tons.
Recall that during the reporting period, tea exports accounted for 0.02% of Azerbaijan's total exports, while tea imports made up 0.36% of the country's total imports.
